MISSIONS

   A HEART FOR MISSIONS

Selmore Baptist Church has a heart to share the good news of Jesus!  We believe the Bible teaches three primary ways to do this...  praying, giving, and going.

Praying:  We pray for the salvation of those who do not know Jesus, both in our personal prayer life, and when we meet together for worship and Bible study.  We also intercede on behalf of specific missionaries serving around the world.  

Giving:  We give a liberal portion of our weekly offerings to the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program, which funds more than 10,000 missionaries around the world.  Additionally, we collect special offerings throughout the year for missions.

Going:  In 2010 our missions theme is "Be a Blessing!"  We will be active in hands-on ministry throughout our community and region by feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, and coming alongside the brokenhearted.  Furthermore, we are currently planning missions to the Chicago area, and the nation of El Salvador.
